Every Eid I try and come up with something fun, for family. (And that is actually how my little handmade crafts business evolved, but we will talk about that some other day). So, in 2012 I made these super fun and interactive envelopes for my nephews, on eid.
I wanted the envelopes to be really vibrant, colorful, and desi. So I moved forward with navy blue, bright Red, Orange, Teal, and Yellow.
I used a lot of die cuts on this. To form the moon, I die cut a scalloped circle, punched out the center, and layered it to reveal a crescent, which I highlighted using a white pen.
The fun and interactive bit was, that upon pulling the red tab, the eidi slides out on the other side.
The kids loved them!
These were pretty unusual back then, and so were a big hit. Made something a little more mature for weddings too!
Hope this inspires you make something fun for the kids this Eid!
Happy Crafting
