Tag: Soul Mate

"New Beginnings", is the April challenge at Country View Challenges, and that is the inspiration for this tag. To me, new beginnings is a whole lot of things, and though there are several occasions in our lives that qualify as new beginnings, love, is what all these events revolve around.

So, my entry too, revolves around love!

The colors are inspired by Vintage Romance (which was the theme for a Tag Swap which I had intended to participate in). The roses on the corners are drawn and colored with pencil, while the background is stamped.
A vellum heart is layered over cardstock and glittered vellum.

A distressed layer is stamped with 'soul mate' and some bling added for detail.
and that is about it!

Keepsake: Vintage Drawers

Back in December 2013, I made some keepsake Vintage Drawer boxes which were inspired by Vintage Drawers. I've been wanting to post about them, since some time, and finally, now is the time.

The inspiration came, not from one particular piece of shabby chic / vintage furniture, but from the innumerable pieces, I've been obsessed with for a long long time.

The drawer itself is made of heavy board, which was inked, layered and stamped. A small ribbon knob was added, using which the drawer is pulled out.

Each drawer was further embellished with a faux embroidered runner and doily. These were created by embossing vellum. A quilled vase, full of roses, was placed on each doily.

Tiny letters and envelopes (about 0.5") were inked, stamped, and, placed on some runners, while a rose with a pearl was placed on the others.

I love how these turned out!  = )

Craft March Challenge 2: Saba's Project

The theme was Vintage.
The thought behind this layout: The acrylic lock signifies the cherished memories locked in time, remnants of which are held within this 5" keepsake box
Its done is tones of pink and brown with lots of embellishments mounted on a rose paper base.

The letters were done using stamps followed by distressing the edges and all.
The envelope was plain and I added the cherish sentiment to it. I got the print as a free printable, which I folded to form an envelope.
On the top I added a metal filigree; I've had this since forever and I love it.

Organza ribbon added round the edges. You can also see that the entire box has been distressed and aged to go with the theme.

Craft March Challenge 2: Vintage

Yes this is a much delayed post, sorry.
So the 2nd and last challenge for March, as decided by Khadija is "Vintage". (It's the last challenge for March because between all the orders, freelance projects and organizing an exhibition scheduled for the 31st of March (inshallah), I am not getting any time to myself )

Challenge 2 : Design anything with a Vintage theme.

Here is what Khadija designed; I'll post my project tomorrow inshallah!

As per Khadija, this is a 15 min project -excluding the time spent on making the flower-.

Happy Crafting!
