My first post for 2019, is about making a gorgeous yet super simple layered flower. I strongly believe in using the tools that we already have, and here is one example of how you can use your floral dies to create a unique floral embellishment.<br />

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
Most, if not, all of you must have come across the famous quote "The Earth without Art is just Eh", while browsing through artsy content on social media sites like Instagram, Pinterest or Facebook. Well, the reason for the background is that Mahe Zehra, has actually included this quote as a coloring page in her adult coloring book called "The Book of Happiness". The fun part is that Craft Circus is actually hosting a coloring challenge where this is one of the designs that you can download for free, color, and submit as an entry.<br />
<br />
So after a long stressful month, I finally had this weekend to myself, and decided to color the page using my awesome collection of Distress Stains!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hm3JVb-BSlA/XBZLJorCNdI/AAAAAAAADu4/3Bn_IWWx5yomjR3axWGAOj4JP969fQe_QCLcBGAs/s1600/EarthWithoutArt%2Bdistress%2Bstains.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="800" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hm3JVb-BSlA/XBZLJorCNdI/AAAAAAAADu4/3Bn_IWWx5yomjR3axWGAOj4JP969fQe_QCLcBGAs/s640/EarthWithoutArt%2Bdistress%2Bstains.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
So before I delve into what I have done here, let me show you the original page.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Pcf_tLKUw7k/XBZEf8kYmfI/AAAAAAAADuI/NboiMtkdPDkZrrdCo6K0A0xeGlFM_oVOwCLcBGAs/s1600/48059760_1849480385174075_3711445733426069504_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1237" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Pcf_tLKUw7k/XBZEf8kYmfI/AAAAAAAADuI/NboiMtkdPDkZrrdCo6K0A0xeGlFM_oVOwCLcBGAs/s320/48059760_1849480385174075_3711445733426069504_o.jpg" width="247" /></a></div>
So you can see that I, did not just color the page but also added some details to it. My reasoning for transforming it the way I did was based on the fact that the Quote talks about ART, and not just color. For me adding artsy elements to it was an integral part of the process, so other than Distress Stains, I've used stencils, markers, and stamps.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aIm3d72zRhY/XBZHdprDiDI/AAAAAAAADug/6AtWSNGrQlM9iRy6GMd-lwPDowGdkMzNwCLcBGAs/s1600/EarthWithoutArt-CloseUpBottom.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Earth Without Art, Distress Stains Tim Holtz, " border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="800" height="360" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aIm3d72zRhY/XBZHdprDiDI/AAAAAAAADug/6AtWSNGrQlM9iRy6GMd-lwPDowGdkMzNwCLcBGAs/s640/EarthWithoutArt-CloseUpBottom.png" title="" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The splatters on the original artwork, set the tone for the splattered colors blending into one another.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-NBy__yPY81E/XBZJV8RUztI/AAAAAAAADus/tphu0UDpKw4F947pAymKehHkolmWCpdpgCLcBGAs/s1600/EarthWithoutArt-CloseUpSide.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="800" height="360" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-NBy__yPY81E/XBZJV8RUztI/AAAAAAAADus/tphu0UDpKw4F947pAymKehHkolmWCpdpgCLcBGAs/s640/EarthWithoutArt-CloseUpSide.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qP5lc2gRZgA/XBZFqellA_I/AAAAAAAADuU/ss5DiqHtzHEjH9yO7hTXf3jWzY4ZL7zoQCLcBGAs/s1600/EarthWithoutArt.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Earth Without Art, Distress Stains Tim Holtz, " border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="800" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qP5lc2gRZgA/XBZFqellA_I/AAAAAAAADuU/ss5DiqHtzHEjH9yO7hTXf3jWzY4ZL7zoQCLcBGAs/s640/EarthWithoutArt.png" title="" width="640" /></a></div>

<br />
Earlier this month when <a href="https://www.thedailymarker.com/2018/07/new-coloring-contest-yipeeee/" target="_blank">the daily marker coloring contest</a> was announced, I knew I just HAD to take part. From my collection of stamps, I pulled out the <a href="https://stampersanonymous.com/tim-holtz-cling-mount-stamps-flutter-cms294.html" target="_blank">Tim Holtz Cling Mount Stamps - Flutter CMS294</a>; which I love but for some reason have used the least, and decided to color these butterflies.<br />
<br />
I started by stamping the butterflies with black archival ink, all over the white cardstock, and then colored the background using regular Tempo markers. Next, I colored the butterflies, in a combination of colors, using the same markers.<br />
<br />
These will be transformed into cards... soon, I hope! =D<br />

<br />
With Ramadan only 23/24 days, I decided to make some fun vibrant, Ramadan Kareem cards for loved ones. I captured the entire process on video, to share with everyone, so that you too feel inspired to make some of your own.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<iframe allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/mE2zoc5Vzcc" width="560"></iframe><br /></div>
<br />
In this video tutorial I have used stamps from Altenew, Kaisercraft and Prima Marketing Inc. Instead of using distress inks, I opted to use pigment inks, by Color Box, and black Archival Ink.<br />
<br />
<br />
Have a wonderful day!<br />

As you can see in the above picture, its actually a pretty long panel, and so I used half of it for this card. I created the base layer by stamping the edges to create the border, and the then stamped the sentiment on Kraft card.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pLB3gZGr1gA/WlTO7Wmj1tI/AAAAAAAAC8Y/-u6r2g7QAUEFiIXqv2y9ohmGFzoio06cACLcBGAs/s1600/Incredible%2Bsentiment%2BCloseUp.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="800" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pLB3gZGr1gA/WlTO7Wmj1tI/AAAAAAAAC8Y/-u6r2g7QAUEFiIXqv2y9ohmGFzoio06cACLcBGAs/s640/Incredible%2Bsentiment%2BCloseUp.png" width="640" /></a></div>

Added some glossy accents to add dimension to the design.<br />

<br />
"To My Soulmate" is a customized album, made in shades on grey and blue. Since this scrapbook was a to be gifted to a gentleman, I avoided using any flowers and ribbons. Used lots of diecuts on the cover, and heat embossed some details.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-e8K9CEjHQCw/WiQ3ru3szZI/AAAAAAAAC5c/8b-jZTuVk7QJLKMP8C7EXqRbfqUrVrp9wCLcBGAs/s1600/Soulmate-Scrapbook-Cover-CloseUp.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="800" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-e8K9CEjHQCw/WiQ3ru3szZI/AAAAAAAAC5c/8b-jZTuVk7QJLKMP8C7EXqRbfqUrVrp9wCLcBGAs/s640/Soulmate-Scrapbook-Cover-CloseUp.png" title="Heat Embossed , Woodware" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The scrapbook contains over 20 mats, and lots of space for journal-ling.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-F1jLaAg1RGQ/WiQ4icMjxfI/AAAAAAAAC5o/sOF058bqI4oNIJ_3l1cyP-OfFd1hnOVoACLcBGAs/s1600/Soulmate-Box%2BTop-Scrapbook.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="800" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-F1jLaAg1RGQ/WiQ4icMjxfI/AAAAAAAAC5o/sOF058bqI4oNIJ_3l1cyP-OfFd1hnOVoACLcBGAs/s640/Soulmate-Box%2BTop-Scrapbook.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Kept the box grey, with lots of texture and fun elements.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PBsIUM4CAFg/WiQ454xRljI/AAAAAAAAC5s/WgOJXkC3Ttg7ihm2Ov5VYjn6OJuHzxMSQCLcBGAs/s1600/Soulmate-Box%2BTop-Scrapbook-CloseUp.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="800" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PBsIUM4CAFg/WiQ454xRljI/AAAAAAAAC5s/WgOJXkC3Ttg7ihm2Ov5VYjn6OJuHzxMSQCLcBGAs/s640/Soulmate-Box%2BTop-Scrapbook-CloseUp.png" title="layout" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Added frames, cogs and gears, hidden tags, pockets, and booklets all through the album.<br />
<br />

<a href="http://www.thedailymarker.com/2017/08/the-next-30-day-coloring-challenge-2/" target="_blank">The Daily Marker 30 Day</a> coloring challenge, hosted by Kathy, is all about taking your coloring skills one step further. It is open to all those who enjoy coloring, and sharing, their passion with others. You can read all about the challenge on <a href="http://www.thedailymarker.com/2017/08/the-next-30-day-coloring-challenge-2/" target="_blank">The Daily Marker</a> site. I too am participating in it this year, and that is why I have been posting coloring projects on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/favorsmore/" target="_blank">my instagram</a> account daily. </div>
<br />
Why am I taking part? It was during the 2015 challenge that <a href="https://www.instagram.com/glitternswirls/" target="_blank">Erum Tasneem's</a> beautiful coloring posts inspired me to start coloring once again. I started coloring random images, and then as I got busy with other projects, coloring got sidelined. So, this year I decided that I would take this on seriously and stick through it, making sure that I color every single day of the month. I love to color, and I saw this as a great opportunity to polish my coloring skills. There are thousands of people, across the globe participating, tons of inspiration and lots to learn; I couldn't just let this go this time.<br />
<br />
<br />
The past 15 days have been extremely rewarding and I can actually see a massive improvement in my work (even if I say so myself :P ). Sharing a slideshow of the 15 images that I colored, using water color pencils. These are shared on my <a href="https://www.instagram.com/favorsmore/" target="_blank">instagram</a> account too.<br />

A wooden picture frame had been lying around, all lonely and sad for the past few years. I finally decided to give it a new life, by applying some mixed media techniques to alter / upcycle it.<br />
<br />
I used gesso, texture paste, some charms, chipboard diecuts, and lots of ink. Yup, I did capture the process on camera. Embedding the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBhjLQCUpnt5Rw42csnjghA" target="_blank">youtube</a> video below:<br />

<br />
Beautiful <i>Chai-some</i> day in Karachi today! <i>[Chai = tea]</i><br />
<br />
Loving every bit of it, alhumdolillah. On such beautiful rainy days, I like to indulge in some craft fun, and so I watercolored this sketch that I had purchased, a few years back, from Phuljari designs. And then transformed it into a cute card. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-z5aSs7hfN44/WW9QqLWeDuI/AAAAAAAACxg/7-1CY-JM6iAfZcXtFBkUIjaMdZjRN7CdACLcBGAs/s1600/chai%2BColoring.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Water coloring sketch of teapot from Phuljari designs" border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="800" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-z5aSs7hfN44/WW9QqLWeDuI/AAAAAAAACxg/7-1CY-JM6iAfZcXtFBkUIjaMdZjRN7CdACLcBGAs/s640/chai%2BColoring.png" title="" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I used the Pelican water colors for this. Beautiful bright colors.<br />
Once colored, I simply cutout the elements, and layered them to make this card. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-kKxVCDVcLDY/WW9VOzCd37I/AAAAAAAACx0/tjH2SA6We0sTNjPG9GG-nLxER3bRSFZzQCLcBGAs/s1600/Chai%2BCard%2BCloseUp%2Bteapot%2Bflowers.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Tea , Chai-some , close up of tea pot, desi " border="0" data-original-height="801" data-original-width="800" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-kKxVCDVcLDY/WW9VOzCd37I/AAAAAAAACx0/tjH2SA6We0sTNjPG9GG-nLxER3bRSFZzQCLcBGAs/s640/Chai%2BCard%2BCloseUp%2Bteapot%2Bflowers.png" title="" width="638" /></a></div>
<br />
Stamped the sentiment using archival ink.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_3MVY96mp6o/WW9VRR60ecI/AAAAAAAACx4/UUN8coF-PD01gP2FjLC6Js-aDbwBT-nOgCLcBGAs/s1600/Chai%2BCard%2BCloseUp%2Bflowers.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="800" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_3MVY96mp6o/WW9VRR60ecI/AAAAAAAACx4/UUN8coF-PD01gP2FjLC6Js-aDbwBT-nOgCLcBGAs/s640/Chai%2BCard%2BCloseUp%2Bflowers.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Added some elements on the inside too.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-F-av9eIiLzE/WW9Xd5ZuUiI/AAAAAAAACyI/aVn-id4dfukfSzQSzsfABQVz38KRuFYWACLcBGAs/s1600/Chai%2BCard%2BInside%2Bflowers.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="800" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-F-av9eIiLzE/WW9Xd5ZuUiI/AAAAAAAACyI/aVn-id4dfukfSzQSzsfABQVz38KRuFYWACLcBGAs/s320/Chai%2BCard%2BInside%2Bflowers.png" width="320" /></a></div>

<br />
Today I am sharing a card, inspired by the <a href="http://altenewblog.com/2017/06/01/june-2017-inspiration-challenge-white-on-white-focal-point/" target="_blank">Altenew June challenge</a> image (you can find the image at the bottom of the post.)<br />
The challenge required a white on white focal point; so I started by embossing a bunch of white roses using the Vintage Roses stamp set, on to white cardstock. Then, I added gradient to the background using Altenew Inks (Grapevine, Ruby Red) and Distress Ink (Antique Linen). Added layers of white embossed, and plain white diecut vellum to the embossed bunch, along with a stamped sentiment.<br />

I basically die cut the crescent from the top layer, then heat embossed the stars in gold, using the Simon Says Stamp "Lots of Stars", and the sentiment from Altenew "Eid Greetings" stamp set. Next I inked the card using distress inks (Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Seedless Preserves), created the shaker pocket and adhered it to the base card. You can view the entire process in the video tutorial above. <br />
<br />

<br />
I added micro beads instead of sequence, because of the intricate diecut. <br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lCY9zumpVyg/WTatniyDwrI/AAAAAAAACuA/XgKXrIqAN84sMRGFBkr4QU2yvT-iBvyAwCLcB/s1600/HOTZ%2BEid%2Bmubarak%2Benvelopes%2Beidi.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="800" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lCY9zumpVyg/WTatniyDwrI/AAAAAAAACuA/XgKXrIqAN84sMRGFBkr4QU2yvT-iBvyAwCLcB/s640/HOTZ%2BEid%2Bmubarak%2Benvelopes%2Beidi.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Every Eid I try and come up with something fun, for family. <i>(And that is actually how my little handmade crafts business evolved, but we will talk about that some other day). </i>So, in 2012 I made these super fun and interactive envelopes for my nephews, on eid.<br />
<br />
I wanted the envelopes to be really vibrant, colorful, and desi. So I moved forward with navy blue, bright Red, Orange, Teal, and Yellow.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xo_ZvQGTyuU/WTawLvl8S0I/AAAAAAAACuM/sYq0GZ_QT6ANNVSyBuLNacORbPhW9kkcgCLcB/s1600/HOTZ%2BEid%2Bmubarak%2Benvelope%2Bone.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="800" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xo_ZvQGTyuU/WTawLvl8S0I/AAAAAAAACuM/sYq0GZ_QT6ANNVSyBuLNacORbPhW9kkcgCLcB/s640/HOTZ%2BEid%2Bmubarak%2Benvelope%2Bone.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I used a lot of die cuts on this. To form the moon, I die cut a scalloped circle, punched out the center, and layered it to reveal a crescent, which I highlighted using a white pen.<br />
<br />
The fun and interactive bit was, that upon pulling the red tab, the eidi slides out on the other side.<br />
The kids loved them!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ifiUx1YibtE/WTax-anbAUI/AAAAAAAACuY/75d25WO2E6kjXS0b0MFGDzEA5cYcPQYZwCLcB/s1600/HOTZ%2BEid%2Bmubarak%2Benvelope%2Bopen.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ifiUx1YibtE/WTax-anbAUI/AAAAAAAACuY/75d25WO2E6kjXS0b0MFGDzEA5cYcPQYZwCLcB/s640/HOTZ%2BEid%2Bmubarak%2Benvelope%2Bopen.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
These were pretty unusual back then, and so were a big hit. Made something a little more mature for weddings too!<br />
<br />
Hope this inspires you make something fun for the kids this Eid!<br />
Happy Crafting<br />

<br />
Super excited and happy to share these cards, that I made, to mark the beginning of Ramadan. What adds to my joy is that I finally managed to complete them before the month started.<br />
<br />
I created the background by combining three different stamp sets (mainly from BoBunny and Kaisercraft), and then inked it heavily with distress inks. The sentiment is from Altenew.<br />

<br />
I went over all the details with ZIG Wink of Stella, so these sparkle when the light hits them. I couldn't capture the sparkle in this picture, but I did <a href="https://www.instagram.com/favorsmore/" target="_blank">instagram</a> it when I was working on the background.<br />

It is a simple card, which I have embossed using my scoreboard, and then inked, to create the gorgeous background.<br />
I am so in love with the colors. The butterfly is die cut from one of my Gelli prints.<br />

I did capture the entire process (except the Gelli Printing bit) on camera.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wDaZOrDnQmc/WNOm1d0xEgI/AAAAAAAACg8/4ymyYzuQlpYF2sTUK-o2gTZDacnTLS7kwCLcB/s1600/gelli%2Bprint%2Bcard.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="624" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wDaZOrDnQmc/WNOm1d0xEgI/AAAAAAAACg8/4ymyYzuQlpYF2sTUK-o2gTZDacnTLS7kwCLcB/s640/gelli%2Bprint%2Bcard.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Gelli printing was the first new technique I learnt this year, and I am excited to share my first project with you. I had heard about gelli printing in the past, but never had a chance to explore it, until January when I attended a workshop on "<a href="http://artful-crafting.com/wordpress/2016/12/workshop/" target="_blank">The Magic of Gelli Printing</a>" hosted by Shereen. It was a great experience and we learnt lots of fun techniques. I finally got around to playing with my Gelli Plate last week and below are the two prints I pulled. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_ApQokCbwQA/WNOrwu9G0LI/AAAAAAAAChM/SabkRXjCjPwZsnqyadzqMYj53j5uS8cEACLcB/s1600/ghost%2Bprint%2Bblack%2Bbase%2B2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_ApQokCbwQA/WNOrwu9G0LI/AAAAAAAAChM/SabkRXjCjPwZsnqyadzqMYj53j5uS8cEACLcB/s320/ghost%2Bprint%2Bblack%2Bbase%2B2.png" width="225" /></a><a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_1tjhRNYOGE/WNOr91P9DDI/AAAAAAAAChQ/FR_eTMe0r9UiSq9cfY2QEpTWnR68-p2MACLcB/s1600/ghost%2Bprint%2Bblack%2Bbase.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_1tjhRNYOGE/WNOr91P9DDI/AAAAAAAAChQ/FR_eTMe0r9UiSq9cfY2QEpTWnR68-p2MACLcB/s320/ghost%2Bprint%2Bblack%2Bbase.png" width="225" /></a></div>
I decided to move forward with the ghost print, and cut out five circles from it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WWVBV0pPdDc/WNOt9qAJsgI/AAAAAAAAChg/dQhltNyVvtY9PVHQMkq0dMsBHJLa-k_lQCLcB/s1600/Gelli%2BPrinted%2BCircles.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="287" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WWVBV0pPdDc/WNOt9qAJsgI/AAAAAAAAChg/dQhltNyVvtY9PVHQMkq0dMsBHJLa-k_lQCLcB/s320/Gelli%2BPrinted%2BCircles.png" width="320" /></a></div>
To be honest, I was planning to make flowers out of these prints, but the die cut circles looked so pretty that I dropped the idea.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TxQRrYB49UM/WNOvos-1nRI/AAAAAAAAChs/xKrV77pH1zIfZ1pbhG9Mfh4peadEt60KwCLcB/s1600/Gelli%2BPrinted%2BCircles%2Binked.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="226" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TxQRrYB49UM/WNOvos-1nRI/AAAAAAAAChs/xKrV77pH1zIfZ1pbhG9Mfh4peadEt60KwCLcB/s320/Gelli%2BPrinted%2BCircles%2Binked.png" width="320" /></a></div>
To add some dimension, I went ahead and inked the edges. <i>Don't they look like planets!</i><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cDj-q8XkadI/WNOwTEZ5PHI/AAAAAAAACh0/0Oo90o5TnUUtDrGp6wOHDbICP-c4xR2nwCLcB/s1600/Gelli%2BPrinted%2BCircles%2Bfaux%2Bstitch.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="286" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cDj-q8XkadI/WNOwTEZ5PHI/AAAAAAAACh0/0Oo90o5TnUUtDrGp6wOHDbICP-c4xR2nwCLcB/s320/Gelli%2BPrinted%2BCircles%2Bfaux%2Bstitch.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<i> </i>To add some more depth I faux stitched each, in black. <i>The whole idea behind sharing these 3 steps, is to highlight the difference each detail makes. It adds so much interest to the project</i>.<br />
Next I took a black square card, and arranged the circles on it, to get an idea of the arrangement. Then I went ahead and added some texture to it with paste, and pigment ink.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TkAPykKm4ew/WNOyHBZyoDI/AAAAAAAACiA/3NvhHHC1R-UDSyrEXznydgrAU1iXLddmQCLcB/s1600/textured%2Binked%2Bbase.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="222" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TkAPykKm4ew/WNOyHBZyoDI/AAAAAAAACiA/3NvhHHC1R-UDSyrEXznydgrAU1iXLddmQCLcB/s320/textured%2Binked%2Bbase.png" width="320" /></a></div>
Next, I stamped some swirls in the background, and on the die cuts. Adhered the die cuts to the base, and cut out a heart to be placed in the center. Heat embossed 'Gratitude'.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FzUEc8p9Beo/WNOy-PE6EzI/AAAAAAAACiM/y1G0NBOP_RYmx-qIlWcgyA2hg_BB-PWqACLcB/s1600/gelli%2Bprint%2Bcard%2Bup%2Bclose.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="360" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FzUEc8p9Beo/WNOy-PE6EzI/AAAAAAAACiM/y1G0NBOP_RYmx-qIlWcgyA2hg_BB-PWqACLcB/s640/gelli%2Bprint%2Bcard%2Bup%2Bclose.png" width="640" /></a></div>
Added some micro beads, and it was complete!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wDaZOrDnQmc/WNOm1d0xEgI/AAAAAAAAChA/wbFCuhgYHN02J1C7GnFwznf9k62ulo0LQCEw/s1600/gelli%2Bprint%2Bcard.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="624" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wDaZOrDnQmc/WNOm1d0xEgI/AAAAAAAAChA/wbFCuhgYHN02J1C7GnFwznf9k62ulo0LQCEw/s640/gelli%2Bprint%2Bcard.png" width="640" /></a></div>

All of us have used lots of moisturizes this winter, and surely there are some empty tins, and bottles lying around waiting to meet the bin. I wanted to use the empty Nivea Creme tins to store some teeny tiny craft elements and so I decided to give them a new look. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-W_rQPjlSBv4/WL630LipTUI/AAAAAAAACdM/0TRZZqqqghwhjsut_-3N5DYNBdAxX2nTgCLcB/s1600/Before-After-Nivea-Tin-Altered.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-W_rQPjlSBv4/WL630LipTUI/AAAAAAAACdM/0TRZZqqqghwhjsut_-3N5DYNBdAxX2nTgCLcB/s640/Before-After-Nivea-Tin-Altered.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I started off by washing the tins thoroughly, leaving them squeaky clean and ready for the makeover. Once dry, I spray painted them Coca Brown and let the paint dry.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9HCnG47elV8/WL65XQQEI7I/AAAAAAAACdY/vIdebJA0VQ4ZdfclrYVd4U3ztxW5lZnaQCLcB/s1600/spray%2Bpainted%2Bcoca%2Bbrown.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="486" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9HCnG47elV8/WL65XQQEI7I/AAAAAAAACdY/vIdebJA0VQ4ZdfclrYVd4U3ztxW5lZnaQCLcB/s640/spray%2Bpainted%2Bcoca%2Bbrown.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<i>TIP: Spray paint the base and lid separately, this will ensure complete coverage. Do not touch the box until it is completely dry; If you do, the paint will just wipe off.</i><br />
<br />
Next I chose some of my favorite stencils, and placed them on the box, in a manner that the design would cover the raised text.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-o8_oQuW4SyI/WL6_NXwV1gI/AAAAAAAACdo/IKzVbYVuDLIaWvRveiDqEds3nu2wEI3IACLcB/s1600/Placing%2Bthe%2Bstencil%2Bon%2Bthe%2Bbox.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Stampers Anonymous Stencil Floral 2017 release" border="0" height="632" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-o8_oQuW4SyI/WL6_NXwV1gI/AAAAAAAACdo/IKzVbYVuDLIaWvRveiDqEds3nu2wEI3IACLcB/s640/Placing%2Bthe%2Bstencil%2Bon%2Bthe%2Bbox.png" title="" width="640" /></a></div>
I am using the Floral stencil from Tim Holtz's layering stencils collection - 2017. Once happy with the position, I stenciled modeling paste onto the box.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4O9tAF5AdGs/WL7E89o6GXI/AAAAAAAACd4/JqwxgPBhdk8zOnAQGIWdxVXiLZiMIL4_gCLcB/s1600/Floral%2BStencil%2BTim%2BHoltz%2B2017.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="560" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4O9tAF5AdGs/WL7E89o6GXI/AAAAAAAACd4/JqwxgPBhdk8zOnAQGIWdxVXiLZiMIL4_gCLcB/s640/Floral%2BStencil%2BTim%2BHoltz%2B2017.png" width="640" /></a></div>
Since this is tin, and the base isn't flat, the stencil slips when applying the paste. You can tape it down if you like, but I just held it down with my hand as I wasn't looking for a perfect print.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KvWeh7xBGrA/WL7Gd8xLvFI/AAAAAAAACeA/QCCaacCu9e0iab66_fHtgDAEDWRJtVn3ACLcB/s1600/Floral%2BStencil%2Bmodeling%2Bpaste.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="616" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KvWeh7xBGrA/WL7Gd8xLvFI/AAAAAAAACeA/QCCaacCu9e0iab66_fHtgDAEDWRJtVn3ACLcB/s640/Floral%2BStencil%2Bmodeling%2Bpaste.png" width="640" /></a></div>
While the paste was drying, I activated <a href="http://artful-crafting.com/shop/luminarte-twinkling-h2os-shimmering-watercolors-5g-6pkg-springtime/" target="_blank">Bashful Blue, Chiffon Pink and Sea Glass</a> <a href="http://artful-crafting.com/shop/luminarte-twinkling-h2os-shimmering-watercolors-5g-6pkg-springtime/" target="_blank">Twinkling H2O's</a> for coloring the stenciled design.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qpmn6vmQEPI/WL7JjnuS-TI/AAAAAAAACeM/5_D_sRCTznwocS6L2RbryClpoVC-6-f7gCLcB/s1600/twinkling%2BH2O.png" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qpmn6vmQEPI/WL7JjnuS-TI/AAAAAAAACeM/5_D_sRCTznwocS6L2RbryClpoVC-6-f7gCLcB/s640/twinkling%2BH2O.png" width="634" /></a></div>
<br />
Colored parts of the design, and left it to dry.<br />
<br />
I altered three tins, using three different designs, and each looks beautiful.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I take delight in experimenting, working with new mediums, and trying out new things (and by new things I mean, things that I have not worked with before). It is for this reason that I am blessed with the opportunity of working on a whole bunch of unusual projects, alhumdolillah. Today, I will be sharing one such project, <b>Project Babushka</b>!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tuuGfKDS_JQ/WLLP-TQQdiI/AAAAAAAACWE/aRBuLPzgOmoGOs22Q2Yr4JRm9PILMpHWACLcB/s1600/babhuskaDolls%2Bsc.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="433" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tuuGfKDS_JQ/WLLP-TQQdiI/AAAAAAAACWE/aRBuLPzgOmoGOs22Q2Yr4JRm9PILMpHWACLcB/s640/babhuskaDolls%2Bsc.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This project rolled out sometime in September 2016, and as much as I wanted to make this part of my "year in review" post, I couldn't -- because I never got around to writing one, ha!<br />
<br />
So the requirement was basically to <i>customise</i> <a href="http://russian-crafts.com/crafts-history/nesting-dolls-history.html" target="_blank">babushka dolls</a>, as giveaways for a surprise party being hosted in Russia. Sounds pretty simple, -- but its not that simple.<br />
<br />
The first step was to find the plain dolls; my first preference was to get them from somewhere within the city/country. But that didn't work out, so they had to be imported<span style="color: #0000ee;"><span style="color: #0000ee;">.<span style="color: #0000ee;"> <span style="color: black;">When I opened the carton, I realized that I had to do a lot more than I had expected.</span></span></span></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-y1K4TsUvcFk/WLLaXuwQkFI/AAAAAAAACXI/fjZ_4QYuWLUlyTDuqnr8Pa59wd5zYUyAACLcB/s1600/babhuska%2BDolls%2Bcarton%2Bpacking.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="548" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-y1K4TsUvcFk/WLLaXuwQkFI/AAAAAAAACXI/fjZ_4QYuWLUlyTDuqnr8Pa59wd5zYUyAACLcB/s640/babhuska%2BDolls%2Bcarton%2Bpacking.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="color: #0000ee;"><span style="color: #0000ee;"><span style="color: #0000ee;"><span style="color: #0000ee;"><span style="color: #0000ee;"><span style="color: #0000ee;"><span style="color: #0000ee;"><span style="color: #0000ee;"><span style="color: #0000ee;"><span style="color: black;">Step 2 involved sanding each and every doll individually. This was THE most time consuming, yet integral, step of the project as this was the only way to make the top fit the base, perfectly.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span><u><br /></u></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wvj1IDZ_Bng/WLLbWCAtlCI/AAAAAAAACXU/BuMz66fWKeYeYsA84dbUOnOJvA0O798jgCLcB/s1600/babhuska%2BDolls%2Bafter%2Bsanding.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="560" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wvj1IDZ_Bng/WLLbWCAtlCI/AAAAAAAACXU/BuMz66fWKeYeYsA84dbUOnOJvA0O798jgCLcB/s640/babhuska%2BDolls%2Bafter%2Bsanding.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Next up was the process of customization. I was provided high resolution pictures, which I had to edit, -- adding / removing people, superimposition the bodies etc. This was fun, and I was impressed with my Photoshop skills! lol. Each nested doll was meant to have 1 custom picture, except for the largest and smallest, which had 2 pictures each.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qa6C8c-QGBI/WLLoed6vgTI/AAAAAAAACYM/5Qby-CEH5_wsFBA6_RJV840HBdCb_f_swCLcB/s1600/image%2Bediting.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qa6C8c-QGBI/WLLoed6vgTI/AAAAAAAACYM/5Qby-CEH5_wsFBA6_RJV840HBdCb_f_swCLcB/s640/image%2Bediting.png" width="640" /></a></div>
*the faces have been blurred for privacy- incase you were wondering*<br />
<br />
With the images ready and printed it was time to layer them onto the dolls - <a href="http://www.wikihow.com/Decoupage" target="_blank">decoupage</a> basically.<br />
This was a bit tricky because of the babushka doll's shape, and also because these were nested, so the image had to split in two, such that the joint isn't very visible.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QYH-KXYHnS4/WLLqHqWaR_I/AAAAAAAACYY/qmn9NUuCxoopPhZoAsfKSqYze6UOppaWACLcB/s1600/babhuska%2BDolls%2Bset%2Bsc.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="520" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QYH-KXYHnS4/WLLqHqWaR_I/AAAAAAAACYY/qmn9NUuCxoopPhZoAsfKSqYze6UOppaWACLcB/s640/babhuska%2BDolls%2Bset%2Bsc.png" width="640" /></a></div>
The last step was to seal them with varnish.<br />
<br />
<br />
And that was project Babushka, handmade in Pakistan!<br />
<br />

I am in love with Blue Fern Studios - Courtship Lane paper collection! Here is the cover of a recently completed project. The short chipboard title 'Story' is from Blue Fern Studios; it has been heat embossed and then glittered.<br />
The frame is a glittered diecut, and the street lamp has been fussy cut. <br />

If you have been following me on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/favorsmore/" target="_blank">Instagram</a>, you must have seen a preview of the Paris themed scrapbook that I completed, not so long ago. Well, I have finally managed to take out time to share the details with you, hope you enjoy reading about it just as much as I enjoyed making it. This scrapbook was made for a lady, to document her first ever trip to her most favorite place in the whole wide world; Paris. This was going to be a very special trip, and so I wanted to make this scrapbook very special too. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VWjJOwjx3Aw/WA9DRpQSQgI/AAAAAAAACPc/IUmr5_mTGYI2qIXGefLPesek3mp2bm_bACLcB/s1600/Cover%2BSweet%2BParis%2BScrapbook%2BcloseUp.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Blue Fern Embossing Powder" border="0" height="588" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VWjJOwjx3Aw/WA9DRpQSQgI/AAAAAAAACPc/IUmr5_mTGYI2qIXGefLPesek3mp2bm_bACLcB/s640/Cover%2BSweet%2BParis%2BScrapbook%2BcloseUp.png" title="" width="640" /></a></div>
I heat embossed the chipboard elements using the absolutely gorgeous embossing powders by Blue Fern Studios. These embossing powders have a beautiful glittery finish, which adds a whole new dimension to the project. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GRmAoE8N-OY/WA9AXaXuG-I/AAAAAAAACPQ/cgPWf11_-D8q-S3aKKr4bXGmNoHx_-hFwCLcB/s1600/charms.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GRmAoE8N-OY/WA9AXaXuG-I/AAAAAAAACPQ/cgPWf11_-D8q-S3aKKr4bXGmNoHx_-hFwCLcB/s640/charms.png" width="640" /></a></div>
I added some charms to the binding ring, along with organza and satin ribbons.<br />
The pages weren't the regular ones, but with flip pockets. Below is a picture of the first page.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1WZCWRrvL3E/WA9QUBYGP6I/AAAAAAAACP8/_l1KPtRea8URRMOXFamOtR6_r9l-ZJnyACLcB/s1600/Sweet%2BParis%2BPage%2B1%2Bcombined.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1WZCWRrvL3E/WA9QUBYGP6I/AAAAAAAACP8/_l1KPtRea8URRMOXFamOtR6_r9l-ZJnyACLcB/s640/Sweet%2BParis%2BPage%2B1%2Bcombined.png" width="640" /></a></div>
You can see that it opens to a regular page, but when you flip over the Eiffel tower, there is a pocket and a tag, and when you flip that again, there are two more pockets with removable mats. So most of the pages flip open to reveal more photomats / journalling space or pockets.<br />

I love these chipboard frames by Wycinanka; the bows on it are so cute. I simply colored the bows, outlined the frames, and then heat embossed them to seal the color. There is an opening on top of each frame which lets you slip the pictures in.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Used chipboard vines, along with paper and ribbon flowers for this pocket. Love how bright and colorful it turned out.</div>

This is another flip over page. Created a pocket for the small tag by cutting out the roses from the pattern paper.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I had so much fun making this one; I drew out a deep oval, and then cut it out leaving the roses and leaves in place. Added die cut lace to make it look super delicate. </div>

On the last page I added lots of elements, which I fussy cut from the patterned paper.<br />
For the box (rigid heavy board box), I used the same patterned paper as the cover, and added some texture to it. <br />

The chipboard frame has an opening on the top, so you can add a picture to it.<br />
And that's about it...<br />

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<br />
If you have been paper crafting for sometime now, I am sure you have a sizable collection of inks, half of which you've forgotten about, because they aren't 'visible' all the time. Due to limited space, and sheer lack of organization, I had similar issues and so, I decided to make a shelf for these colorful little things.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-icfoFngWGv4/WAYf-ulp0bI/AAAAAAAACNw/iuiim7jgIlEc0PASofJp0NRBn3f32lX8wCLcB/s1600/box%2Bto%2Bshelf%2Baltered.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="378" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-icfoFngWGv4/WAYf-ulp0bI/AAAAAAAACNw/iuiim7jgIlEc0PASofJp0NRBn3f32lX8wCLcB/s640/box%2Bto%2Bshelf%2Baltered.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I started off with this very sturdy gift box, which I had received from Pepsi as part of their Lighting Up Lives Campaign (its a great campaign). I choose to work with this one because the lid and the base have the same depth, making it easier to stack them on their sides. </div>
<br />
So step one was to basically remove the lid from the base, and add horizontal layers to form the shelves. For the layers I've used light board (left over from a previous project,) which has a thickness of 1/8". Since the Inks pads are not heavy, this board served the purpose well.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-r_GuCd8CQxw/WAYlVW6wniI/AAAAAAAACOA/Wtxuw6RrZokrbyo_phrfWblpgjnzwjVxwCLcB/s1600/Horizontal%2Bshelf%2Blayers.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="529" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-r_GuCd8CQxw/WAYlVW6wniI/AAAAAAAACOA/Wtxuw6RrZokrbyo_phrfWblpgjnzwjVxwCLcB/s640/Horizontal%2Bshelf%2Blayers.png" width="640" /></a></div>
Incase you are wondering about the measurements, at this stage, I simply placed the box over the board and traced out the required size. The spacing between each shelf, however was approximately 1".<br />
<br />
Step two was securing the shelves, in place and adding vertical dividers. I cut out comb style dividers, as I felt they would not only be very sturdy but also super easy to adhere. (You will need to add 0.5 inches slits in the shelves too, this will allow the divider and shelf to lock together) <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Mx2_udT9AQY/WAYp4oz8MpI/AAAAAAAACOI/o5iUbisX89g4e6Lbj6hSsOUc-_4B7lFZgCLcB/s1600/Comb%2Bseperator%2BDIY%2BShelf.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="448" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Mx2_udT9AQY/WAYp4oz8MpI/AAAAAAAACOI/o5iUbisX89g4e6Lbj6hSsOUc-_4B7lFZgCLcB/s640/Comb%2Bseperator%2BDIY%2BShelf.png" width="640" /></a></div>
Once cut, I simply pushed these into the existing layers and secured it all together, keeping a distance of 3.5" and 4.25" as shown below. 3.5" is good for distress ink pads, 4.25" works for staz on, archival etc.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fgCv_GzPu1c/WAYsDATV2qI/AAAAAAAACOQ/rLpJ_Q1p9BwrKOdO2DuF8KUQHgRlgvPWwCLcB/s1600/vertical%2Bdividers%2Bshelf%2Blayers.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="404" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fgCv_GzPu1c/WAYsDATV2qI/AAAAAAAACOQ/rLpJ_Q1p9BwrKOdO2DuF8KUQHgRlgvPWwCLcB/s640/vertical%2Bdividers%2Bshelf%2Blayers.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I repeated the same steps for the lid, and then secured it on top of the base. This gave me shelving space to 24 ink pads <3.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4XGleINo2G4/WAYtihprX1I/AAAAAAAACOc/b1fN2ukTeREVIw_okoqa8XXefeGOiWbiQCLcB/s1600/The%2Bcomplete%2Bshelf.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4XGleINo2G4/WAYtihprX1I/AAAAAAAACOc/b1fN2ukTeREVIw_okoqa8XXefeGOiWbiQCLcB/s640/The%2Bcomplete%2Bshelf.png" width="538" /></a></div>
<br />
Next I simply painted the base, stamped over it, and added chipboard Alphas. Once dry, it was home to some of the ink pads and their accessories!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GMTUcjhip2I/WAYvcl5dBwI/AAAAAAAACOg/C7KV_yACQbQ9OswI0d58aBfbwAPz2BJ9ACLcB/s1600/Shelf%2Bfor%2BInk%2BPads.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="616" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GMTUcjhip2I/WAYvcl5dBwI/AAAAAAAACOg/C7KV_yACQbQ9OswI0d58aBfbwAPz2BJ9ACLcB/s640/Shelf%2Bfor%2BInk%2BPads.png" width="640" /></a></div>

<br />
I am, alhumdolillah, so happy with this. It has made life so much easier. It took me around 5 hours to make it, super easy and so useful. If you don't want to buy one, then try making one for yourself too. <br />
Take care, and happy crafting<br />
